What it cannot establish alone
Gas can migrate through surrounding materials. The surface signal needs interpretation, and not every system can be prepared for the test.
The method is selected for the conditions at the property. More than one kind of observation may be needed, and the report should make clear which findings support the proposed next step.
Before the visit
Keep existing pipe drawings and earlier findings available. Describe any restrictions on isolation, access or normal system operation. You do not need to choose or prepare a specialist test yourself.
